RE:JANUARY 2015 CHAT...HAPPY NEW YEAR CUPPA'S
(Date Posted:01/01/2015 8:15 AM)

Good Morning and Happy New Year!  Welcome to 2015.  May it be a really happy, healthy and prosperous year for all of us.

smiley28
Your new skin is absolutely spectacular, and I love the new Sign In page too.   It's way too much work to do for just the two of us, but I love it and I know you really enjoy doing it too.  Thank you ~ and thank you also for my new tag!

How nice that Suz came to cook dinner for you.  Your New Year's party sounded grand!

We did make it up until midnight, though we were awake in bed watching Pride and Prejudice.   We heard the fireworks going off, but didn't even get up to look at them.  lol  Bitterly cold here too, but Denver has a party and fireworks downtown every New Year's Eve.  I think I will let "them" do that celebrating for me.

I'm glad you got to meet my Katie.  I don't talk to her (electronically or otherwise) as much as we used to, but it's obvious why.  I know she is a good mom and her business seems to be thriving and I THINK she and Bryan are doing well.  They are going to take Jack to Costa Rica for a vacation in about a week!    Bryan is a landscape architect and actually has a Master's Degree in landscape architecture, which I understand is unusual, so he teaches college courses and does lots of other things that I don't understand as well.  lol  His work has taken him to Costa Rica before.

I will make no resolutions other than to try to be more positive and really appreciate all that I have and worry less.  I only resolve to 'try'.  ha.   I gained 4 lbs over the holidays, and as I've told you, that's sitting on a large number of lbs I have packed on in the last couple of years.  At my last visit to my Cardiologist early last year, he said I had added 10 lbs from my last visit and he seemed to think that was gasp worthy.  If I don't do something fairly quickly, I hate to think about our next meeting cuz I think I added another 10 before this Holiday 4!  My defibrillator battery is on it's last legs so I know surgery is in the near future.  I was suppose to have an Echo and I've put that off too hoping to loose some weight before I had it done.  It's hard for them and painful for me when you are carrying so much weight.  Obviously I didn't get any of it off and instead added more.  Sigh.    I won't join you logging my results, because I've done that before without success an only with a sense of failure, but I will cheer your efforts and encourage you.  I know you can do it!

Happy New Year, my dear friend.  Let's make this the best year ever!

RE:JANUARY 2015 CHAT...HAPPY NEW YEAR CUPPA'S
(Date Posted:01/02/2015 1:21 AM)

HAPPY NEW YEAR MY FRIEND.  I THINK I TOO WILL RESOLVE TO
TRY AND BE MORE POSITIVE.  I WILL BE POLLYANNA AND PLAY
THE GLAD GAME.  I REALLY HAVE A LOT TO BE THANKFUL FOR.

I TOTALLY UNDERSTAND ABOUT RECORDING YOUR WEIGHT
AND HAVING IT HAVE THE OPPOSITE EFFECT ON YOU AND
MAKING YOU DEPRESSED.  I JUST NEED TO HAVE A LITTLE
VALIDATION, GOOD OR BAD.  I HAVE BEEN AVOIDING THE
SCALE AS I HAVE BEEN EATING EVERYTHING IN SIGHT.  MY
LIFE CHANGE WILL START MONDAY.  ONE LAST WEEKEND TO
CHOW DOWN AND DRINK A BIT.

LAST NIGHT DID NOT TURN OUT AS I HAD HOPED.
SUZ MIL HAD ANOTHER STROKE.  THE FIRST ONE TOOK OUT
THE BACK OF HER BRAIN AND NOW THIS ONE HAS TAKEN
THE FRONT.  ALL THEY CAN DO IT WAIT AND SEE IF SHE WAKES
HOW MUCH DAMAGE THERE IS.  PRESENTLY SHE IS ON A
RESPIRATOR AND NOT BREATHING ON HER OWN.  THE ODDS
ARE THAT SHE IS GONE.  SO, SUZ MADE US SUPPER AND WAS
GOING TO GO SEE JUNE IN THE HOSPITAL AND THEN GO HOME.
BUT THE DOGS WERE BY US.  SO SHE LEFT THEM WITH US AND
WENT AND SAT WITH JUNE FOR A WHILE.  THEN CAME BACK
BY US.  WE DID PLAY HEADS UP FOR ABOUT AN HOUR.  I SAID
IT WAS TIME FOR WINE COOLERS AND SUZ SAYS, I DO NOT
WANT ANY AND I AM GOING HOME, I AM TIRED.  SO GOOD BYE.
THEN MOM JUST KEPT FALLING ASLEEP SO I TOASTED IN THE
NEW YEAR WITH 2 WINE COOLERS.  ALSO THE STEAKS WERE
LOUSY...VERY TOUGH SO THE DOGS GOT A GREAT NYE MEAL.
WE WILL SEE WHAT TOMORROW BRINGS.  LOUANN IS GOING
TO STOP ON HER WAY HOME FROM WORK TO PICK UP SOME OF
MY STUFF FOR SAT.  NAN NEVER HAS ROOM IN HER CAR AND
DOES NOT HELP ME CARRY STUFF AND I HAVE A LOT GOING.
FOOD STUFFS, BABY GIFTS, WHITE ELEPHANTS, TEQUILA
SLUSH, OVERNIGHT BAG AND OXYGEN.  I NEED ALL THE HELP
I CAN GET, LOL.
GOOD NIGHT MY SWEET FRIEND.
HUGS,

And a cheery Good Morning to  you all!
We're still in the deep freeze, 16 degrees 'as we speak' but headed for just above freezing by afternoon.  We'll see.
Today is Garbage/Recycling Day, and we still have an inch of snow on the walk and driveway, that fell after they shoveled the last time.  We were debating how to get our cans to the curb and decided to just wait until next time ~ not a great solution for the recycles because that bin is full to the top right now, and they only pick it up every other week.  We'd have been ok with the trash.  Then Saint Barbara to the rescue!  She called around 7:30 and said she was taking hers out now and if we'd open our garage door, she'd take ours out too.   We are so blessed.   She always brings the cans back up to the garage after they've been picked up when she is home, so we are golden this morning!

We spent yesterday watching a Hart to Hart Marathon and then Gone With the Wind.  It had been several years since we watched that and you tend to forget how good it is between viewings.   Damn Yankees!

Finally talked to Marcela (via text) and she is feeling much better.  We scheduled her to come next Friday.  Probably just before the house is condemned.  Ha.  Naw, it will sure need a far deeper cleaning than we've been giving it by then, but it really doesn't look too bad.   Yet.

I got my monthly banking done before I came  to see you this morning, but I am now three months behind on doing the Budget Book.   You will be able to hear my screams from here when I finally get to it.  Can't even begin to tell you how I am dreading it.

I found out what happened on Saturday night when the ambulance passed our house.  One of the neighbors around the corner thought he had bad flu, and it turned out to be sepsis!  He is in really bad shape and they are saying the only thing that can save him is dialysis.   I don't know if that would be just temporarily or what.  He could use some prayers.  His name is Art and his wife is Joan.  They moved here just after we did, but I've only met them once.
smiley12

I'm really sorry the lovely New Year's Eve you had planned didn't work out.  Poor Suz ~ and the rest of her family.  I can't even imagine how hard that is, much harder on the family than on June herself, I would think.  Sad way to begin the new year.

I'm glad  you are going to the party at LouAnn's and that she is coming over to pick up a lot of your stuff so you don't have to worry about it.   I hope you have as much fun at this party as you haven't been having at some of the others. smiley80   I know it's hard to sleep somewhere else and without all the things you normally need, but I'll be keeping my fingers crossed that you have a ball!

First truck (either trash or recycle, I don't know which, just did a pick up an it's so dark outside that I could't see the truck, but only hear it.  As it moved on, I got a glimpse of lights.  Darned good thing that we got the cans to the curb last night!

Oooh, a darling new tag to mach your great header and border.   You KNOW I'll be stealing all of them. smiley82  Thank you!!

RE:JANUARY 2015 CHAT...HAPPY NEW YEAR CUPPA'S
(Date Posted:01/02/2015 8:35 PM)

We are finally supposed to get snow.  I think around 3 inches though it varies depending on the source.  If it snows before Nan leaves Oshkosh she will not come.  She hopes it will hold off till after she is in Fond du Lac.  Since we are all spending the night it can snow away.  Then hopefully roads will be good for her for going home.  Gary and Steve have to come from Sheboygan and they get lake effect there so am hoping the snow doesn't ruin our weekend.  Louann stopped in on her way home
from work and took most of my stuff with her.  My white elephant gifts, food supplies and baby Christmas gifts.  So I do not have to struggle so with them.
I have been so tired the last few days.  I seem to be sleeping well at night but can hardly stay awake throughout the day.  Maybe a bit of Post-Christmas depression....or even just Winter depression.  May be time to up the anti-depressant for a couple of months.  Or else there is something wrong with me.  So will be keeping an eye on things.

Sadly, Jerry's (Suz hubby) met with the doctor today and there is no good news.  Scans are showing the June is continuing to experience mini strokes...the only part of the brain still alive is the stem.  It has been decided that they will remove her from life support tomorrow afternoon and then will see what happens.  They do not believe that she will breath on her own and that she should go quickly, but you never know.  Jerry is handling it really well.  He said his mom has had no quality of life since the fall and that she was lonely and afraid.  She will be better off in heaven with her husband.  Just hard for all, particularly one granddaughter that was really close to her.
Our garbage/recycling pick up was today too.  Chris next door took it out and Jerry brought the cans back in.  Recycling, like yours is just every 2 weeks.  Too bad they do not think about all the packaging, etc that needs to be recycled this time of year.  Our recycling has been full for weeks and fills up as fast as it is emptied.  Thank God that you always seem to have wonderful neighbors.  Barbara is sure a gem.  I prayed for the man that has sepsis and his wife and will keep praying for them.
I saw that there was the Hart to Hart marathon on.  Would have enjoyed that but mom was not interested.  Nothing good on TV and I suggested a movie but she blew that off.  But complained about everything we did watch.
I more than likely will   not be in tomorrow.  I am taking my iPad with me, but not sure how much I will be on it if at all, unless I am not sleeping.  I cannot sleep there for some reason...not since I could no longer sleep in a bed.  So will see you on Sunday.
Love.

RE:JANUARY 2015 CHAT...HAPPY NEW YEAR CUPPA'S
(Date Posted:01/03/2015 9:21 AM)

It's a balmy 14 degrees right now, heading for a warm and toasty 36 and we have an 80% chance of snow.      Please tell whoever is still Dreaming of a White Christmas that Christmas is OVER!

I woke up way too early yesterday and finally just got up at 4:30.  On the Good News side, I got all my banking done and was posted and had even gone through my emails by 7.  On the other hand, I spent most of the rest of the day falling asleep in front of the TV.  Ah, well.   I did get the jackets of 8 hardback books covered with plastic jacket covers.  Mike got me several new books for Christmas, but some of them date WAY before Christmas and have been waiting a long time to be covered.

We took a break from the Stroganoff last night, so it will taste all the better tonight.

On a sad note, the neighbor I was telling you about with sepsis has gone into hospice.  The treatments they tried didn't work, and there appears to be no hope.  I don't know if he has been sick a long time before the ambulance came last Saturday, but because I don't I'm shocked by this.

Diana, Dorothy, and Mike, Joanne, Bill and Vee,

Thanks so much for your kind messages. They are comforting.

I’m sad to report that the dialysis did not do what we had hoped, so the family and the doctors have decided that the kindest thing we can do for Art is hospice.  He will be moved to Collier hospice tomorrow.  When Art goes on to his next life, I will let you know. The Mathesons are aware of this latest development.

Thanks,  Joan

Today is also my niece Mary Ann's mother-in-law's funeral.  So many deaths and so much sadness at the end of the year and beginning of the new year.

We're still making excuses to avoid taking the tree down.  We only have the not-too-large tree and some stuffed animals on the mantle, but it just looks like so much WORK!  Getting the animals down will be easy.  Maybe I can just throw a trash bag over the tree and leave it until next year?   If I had a spare room, I'd be tempted!  Ha!  Good luck getting yours down.
I did talk to Mountain High and they will come and take the outside decorations down on Monday.  That's so much better than the usual fight I have with them.   We stopped turning the lights on after New Years, but everything is still UP.

smiley19

I hope the snow doesn't spoil your plans to get together with your friends!   It's so nice that Louann already has your things so you don't have to worry about schlepping them there.

I swear there is something going around ~ maybe a Winter tsi-tsi fly or something.  We've been talking in the other group about how tired everyone is, even when they think they get a good night's sleep.     Mike and I are practically catatonic.

I really am sorry to hear about Joan, but I'm glad that Jerry understands that the quality of her life has not been good and maybe he is as ready as he can be for her to go 'home'.   No matter how prepared you think you are, you are never really ready to say goodbye to someone you have loved as much as a mother, but I know he has good family support and I hope the granddaughter who was closest to her will get a lot of comfort and support, too.  It's so hard.

I hope you are off having a wonderful time 'as we speak'!

Hugs and love,

(Date Posted:01/04/2015 9:50 AM)

Brrrr.  It snowed all day yesterday and the temp right now is 3 degrees!   Could be worse.  I could still live in Omaha where the temp is zero and they have a wind chill of 20 below.

We didn't do a whole bunch yesterday and last night we watched Dr Zhivago.  Gorgeous scenery, music, acting, not to mention Omar Sharif's eyes! but I'd forgotten how depressing that movie is.  It should be required viewing once a year for those who think Communism and Socialism are better than Capitalism!

Tonight ~~~ Downton Abby!  It conflicts with other things we watch, so we'll be doing some catch up viewing on OnDemand later.  I think the best scene of the first four seasons was Carson and Mrs Hughes walking hand in hand into the Ocean.  Just delighted me.

Katie posted some pics on Facebook of her and Bryan and Jack in Costa Rica.  She said 2 1/2 year old Jack was really a good traveler.

I hope you are having a wonderful time with your friends!   Stay warm!

RE:JANUARY 2015 CHAT...HAPPY NEW YEAR CUPPA'S
(Date Posted:01/05/2015 8:55 AM)

Good Morning    It's a balmy 9 degrees this morning, but heading for the low 50s.  I'll take it.  They did shovel after our last snow Sunday morning and even though it was below freezing most of the day, the sun melted the frost and we have clean pavement.  It does look a bit like they were drunk when they shoveled, probably just darned cold and in a hurry, but we are down to dry pavement.  With the 50 degree temp today, I'm hoping Sheryl's steps are dry too when I go to get my hair cut tomorrow.  It's really looking BAD.

Today, Mountain High Tree is supposed to come and "Vista cut" one of the pine trees in our back yard so we can keep our view of downtown Denver.  The tree doesn't really need to be cut now but it will in time.   Another crew from Mountain High is supposed to come and take our outside Christmas decorations down today and we are planning to start taking the tree down.  It would be so easy if we just had normal ornaments that come out of boxes, but most of ours are "special" ornaments and have to be wrapped in tissue and put into a baggie or something with a label.  Trying to find the right storage area for each of them is a serious pain in the tush.   Given our energy levels, I'm not counting on getting it all done today, but we'll start at least.

smiley19
I saw your post on Facebook and loved reading about what a lovely time you had with your second family!   I also saw the pictures someone else posted (can't remember who) ~ you looked mahvelous and so happy holding the baby!  I envy you being able to get real cuddling time like that.   It just delighted me to read and see that you really did have a great time!

I can imagine you are tired ~ it's hard enough to sleep in our own beds these days without being in a "foreign" bed, but since you had such a nice time, the lack of sleep was worth it!   Snuggle in and stay warm.  That sounds like a real Wisconsin Winter you have going now!

I am sorry about Joan, but of course not surprised.  If she couldn't have had a quality life I think it was a blessing, though not to those who loved her and now have to face life without her.

RE:JANUARY 2015 CHAT...HAPPY NEW YEAR CUPPA'S
(Date Posted:01/05/2015 6:39 PM)

I do not know how it happened, but I have a new border and a tag and was just starting my note and poof they were gone.  I had already closed out Photobucket and Tagbot so the border is gone for good, lol.  So I made another one, that I like better so I better not lose this one, lol.  It is so damn cold here....they say it is a Arctic Blast or a Polar Vortex or some such thing.  All I know is it is cold and it keeps snowing off and on and it will continue through Friday.  Temps are supposed to drop some on the weekend.  Hallelujah for that, lol.  I am supposed to get my INR done Friday, but I may push that out till Mon. We will see.
My weekend was great and that was Nerissa posting all the pics of Samuel and I.  He was holding his Simba stuffed animal and he kissed it.  He liked to chew on his nose.  He already has a couple bottom teeth and is working on some top ones and bit Rissa a couple times this weekend while nursing.  He is so adorable and funny.  Liam is a riot.  He has learned to shake his head so and is so hilarious when he does it.  I had never seen it and not heard he was doing it and had him on my lap and told him he was a stinker and he shook his head with a big grin.  I laughed and nodded my
head up and down and then he did it again.  We repeated it one more time and then he would not do it any more.  I told Rissa about it and she had not seen him do it either.  But of course because we wanted him to he would not. But he did it several more times over the weekend and she got to see it. The 2 boys play so cute together. Liam is also giving kisses now.  He leans into you with his mouth wide open...too cute.  He was also giving Sam kisses and the last one it seemed as if Sam kissed him back.  We were in baby heaven. Reid, Tricia, Finn and Sailer were only there for a few hours on Saturday.  They went home shortly after supper.  Finn was being absolutely horrid...he was as naughty as he could be.  I will not go into it all.  I did get to hold Sailer for about 15 min.  She was so pretty in white tights and pink and white horizontal striped dress and a darling pink head band.  I hope someone got pictures of her as she was just so precious.  When Reid announced they were leaving I said wait, I have gifts. Finn did not want to come by me even though I had a gift for him. Then he just grabbed the bag and left everything on the floor and was going to walk away. Then Tricia got involved and showed him what each item was. He was so happy about the marker and kept taking the top on and off. I said it is a dry erase but I was sure she would want to supervise so that he did not get it on anything else.  It came with the find the picture book. So then she told him to thank me and he would not.  She told him about 4 times and then said ok, if you cannot say thank you then we are leaving it here.  I am sure Liam or Samuel would love to have it, so then he looked at me and said "thank you grandma" and ran off.  Tricia was stunned that he called me that, but I loved it. The baby gifts of the bags, stuffed animals and books were a big hit with the baby's loving the stuffies and the moms loving the bags and books.
Supper was wonderful.  Louann had made a Thai dish with noodles and peanuts...I cannot remember the name of it but she did not add all the hot and it was prefect for me.  Bruce and Steve would have liked the hot but too bad, lol.  Gary and Steve made a Curry Coconut Soup with fish.  I thought it sounded horrid but it was delicious so it just goes to show you that you should always try new things.  Several would not...their loss and our gain.  2 salads, one was cabbage and kale...yes I know, but I had to have some, the other was lettuce and other greens with red and yellow mini pepper rings, walnuts, craisins, blueberries and more. I used a sesame dressing and it was yummy. There were lots of dips; salmon,    guacamole and crab. Lots of different crackers and chips. Bowls of fruits, 2 cakes, beer bread,   baguettes, cookies and candies.  It was a feast of epic proportions.  Breakfast on Sunday was a broccoli, cheese egg bake.  The eggs are dropped in whole without breaking the yolks and you do not stir them up.  It was really good.  Also there was a cheese and spinach quiche that also was delish.  Fresh baked scones with bits of blueberries.  Bowls of cantaloupe, pineapple, blueberries and blackberries.  Fabulous!!!!
Lunch was leftovers...of supper and breakfast.  Did not go home till is was supper time.  It was sooo wickedly cold and the wind was so strong you were frozen in seconds and I did not have a hat scarf or gloves...how foolish of me. The only reason I was happy to get home was that my back was killing me.  It felt so good to sit in my chair. There were times that it was so noisy that it made me feel a bit over whelmed, but I made it through.  I do not know how mothers of multiples do it...3 babies crying at once is very trying.
Jordan has a court date tomorrow and we will see if he will get out of jail and be able to go to his grandmas funeral.  But the way, her name is June, not Joan, lol.  You said that a couple of times. I do not know if he will get out as he got into several fights while in jail and he just got out of solitary.  He said he liked solitary as no one was after him or threatening him there.  I pray to God that he has learned something from this.
How do they Vista cut a tree?  If they remove the top then they are always cutting away the smallest part of the tree so then won't the top eventually be wide?  Just wondering. Good luck with your tree untrimming.  I know what you mean, when mom had he mouse tree with over 600 ornaments, everyone of them went back into it's original packaging.  We had about 10 big boxes of ornaments.  It took twice as long to untrim the tree as it did to trim it.  We would put all the ornaments on the table and then it was a major search for the right box.  Eventually we put a matching number on each ornament and box and kept them in numerical order in the boxes so we knew which box held which ornament box, lol. It took several days. I hope all goes well with the haircut and the steps, we don't want any falls.
Love,

RE:JANUARY 2015 CHAT...HAPPY NEW YEAR CUPPA'S
(Date Posted:01/06/2015 1:25 PM)

Hello!   I'm a wee bit late because I got my hair cut.  I had her leave it long-ish last time, and It was really looking shaggy, so I said "Go short".  Boy did she ever!  I'm not sure I'm going to be able to curl it!

Yesterday they did come and "Vista trim" the pine tree in the back yard that was threatening to cut off our view of the Denver skyscape in time, AND they did come and take down our outside decorations AND we did get all the decorations off of the Christmas tree!  Mercy ~ productivity at the Butcher House ~ who knew?!

The tree is still up because Mike has to talk to Balsam Hill about the problem with the top's lighting connection to the bottom, and he needed to be able to look very closely to ensure that what they said wasn't what we have.  Anyway he needs to talk to them again before we put the tree away so we will know if they are sending us a new top or what.

I also didn't take the stuffed animals down from the mantle yet, so that's on the docket for today.  For us, we got a lot done.

I love your border, it's beautiful.

I'm so glad you had such a lovely time with your friends and those precious babies.

I can't believe Jordan got into fights and got himself thrown into Solitary.  It sounds like this experience isn't helping him.  I'm so sorry.  If he doesn't turn his life around it frightens me.

Your image of the Vista cut tree is right.  They took off more than I had thought they would, but we think it looks good.  Definitely wider than more pointed, but still a good look I think, better than some of the trees around it and we shouldn't have to worry about losing our view of the Denver skyline for a long time, maybe forever.

Our Chinook winds have warmed the temperature from below freezing to the 50s, and rather unbelievably taken much of the snow with them.  We have large areas of dead grass where we used to have tons of snow, just overnight!   I see your temperatures are bone chilling.  Stay inside and stay warm!!

I HAVE NOTHING TO SAY.

THE COURT IN WINNEBAGO RELEASED JORDAN.

THE FINE ATTACHED TO THIS CASE WAS WHY

HE WAS IN JAIL IN THE FIRST PLACE.

THEY CANNOT BELIEVE HE HAS BEEN IN JAIL

ALL THIS TIME.  THEY JUST GAVE HIM A 28 DAY

HOLD AND HE HAS BEEN IN 52 DAYS.

SUZ CALLED HIS PO ABOUT HOW SOON HE WOULD

BE RELEASED AND EXPLAINED ABOUT THE

FUNERAL AND WANTING JORDAN AS A PALL BEARER.

SHE SAID AS SOON AND SHE GOT THE INFO FROM

THE COURT AND AS SOON AS JORDAN WAS

TRANSPORTED BACK TO FDL.  JORDAN CALLED SUZ

SHORTLY AFTER THAT TO LET HER KNOW HE WAS

BACK AND ASKED SUZ TO CALL PO AND TELL HER

HE WAS BACK.  SHE WOULD NOT ANSWER HER PHONE.

SHE WAS REALLY NICE WITH THE FIRST PHONE CALL

BUT THEN WHO KNOWS WHAT WENT WRONG.

SUZ SAT BY HER PHONE WAITING FOR THE CALL

THAT NEVER CAME.  I ASKED HER IF SHE KNEW WHY

AND SHE SAID IT WAS THE PO HOLDING IT ALL UP NOW.

I HOPE THAT WOMAN IS NOT BEING JUST PETTY.

JORDAN DID CLAIM THE FIGHTS WERE SELF DEFENSE

ON HIS PART.  HE IS SMALL AND HE HAS A MOUTH THAT

DOES NOT QUIT SO HE PROBABLY MOUTHED OFF AND

WAS ATTACKED BECAUSE OF IT.  I JUST PRAY THAT

THINGS CHANGE.

I WILL TALK TO YOU TOMORROW.

HUGS, LOU ANN

Not letting me use a border or tag, sigh.

RE:JANUARY 2015 CHAT...HAPPY NEW YEAR CUPPA'S
(Date Posted:01/07/2015 10:10 AM)

Good Morning.   We're back in the Arctic today, not expected to get above freezing all day.  Absolutely crazy weather.  Mike has a haircut this afternoon and then we thought we'd go out for an early dinner, but with freezing drizzle predicted, I'm not so sure.  We'll see.

Oops.  Now the weather is showing mixed snow and sleet.  Lovely.  Everything is covered with ice!

Watching the news of the terrorist attacks in Paris.  We are either going to just yield to the Muslim Terrorists and do what they want to get along, or we are going to have to stop them.  I know what I'd like to see done, but I suspect it will ultimately be the opposite.  We made excused for the Ft Hood terrorist and called his acts of terrorism "workplace violence", so the writing is on the wall.    Just sickening.

I have some real doubts about this haircut, but we'll see.  One good thing, even if it is too short, it grows too fast.  smiley93

Mike did talk to Balsam Hills about the tree and they turned it over to the Warranty Dept with a request for a new tree (both top and bottom).  So either we are back at square one, or we have moved ahead, and I guess we won't have a clue until the Warranty Dept contacts us.   Basically both top and bottom work, just not together ~ lol.  We plugged each piece into the timer during the Christmas Season and it looked fine, but you couldn't turn it off and on or change the way it was lighted with the remote.  On the other hand, if you could operate it with the remote, you couldn't use the timer.     Anyway, we can take it down now and store it away and that's the main thing I want right now.
I remember part of the reason Jordan was sent to jail was because he was "disrespectful" of his PO.  It would be petty indeed if she kept him in and made him miss his grandmother's funeral in retaliation.  Unbelievable that he was in twice as long as his sentence!  That's just wrong.

I hope and pray this is straightened out quickly.

Stay warm.

What the heck is Balsam Hill waiting for.  They should have had this all figured out and taken care of by now.  That is a big company and with the claims they brag about on TV they should have a much better customer service.
This is definitely a Wisconsin snow border since it is in Packer colors.  But I actually made it to hopefully go with my new tags.  So when I post it we will see.
Jordan got out of jail today and came and saw us.  He seemed unchanged so we will see.  Though he did say he
tried a cigarette and it tasted horrible.  So maybe he had quit them long enough not to go back to them.  Mom preached at him about doing what he needs to do to stay out of jail and he said he was going to.  Time will tell.
Mom has had an on again, off again cough for about a week.  She called her Dr. yesterday and she put her on a Z pack.  Monday I started sneezing and coughing and my
voice would come and go.  Sort of that way again today.
One moment I am fine, the next I am hacking my brains out, lol.  So say a little prayer that it does not get any worse.
Going to do my breathing treatment and go to sleep.
Border is a pretty good match, lol
Hugs,

RE:JANUARY 2015 CHAT...HAPPY NEW YEAR CUPPA'S
(Date Posted:01/08/2015 9:14 AM)

Good Morning.

Reporting in from the Crazy Weather Capital.  Yesterday we had snow and freezing sleet and bitterly cold temperatures.  We altered our plans and didn't go out of the door. Mike cancelled his haircut and we didn't go out for dinner. Barbara called and picked up our mail and took our trash can out for us.  Embarrassing to have her do that for us, but at the same time, we're grateful.  I have no problem going out in the cold, but if there is a drop of damp I'm frozen with fear of doing my Ballet Number for all to see.

On a more positive note, we did get all of the Christmas decorations down ~ Yay. It looks a bit bleak, but still nice to have that done.

Oh, Goodie.  Looks like I'm getting scrunchy text today.  Peachy!

The Paris attack was all that was on the news yesterday.  Sickening.  Our President finally called it a Terrorist Attack, but still refuses to say Islamic Terrorist.  Of course he still says that ISIS and ISIL are not Islamic, even though the I in ISIS/ISIL stands for Islamic.  We're still calling the Fort Hood terrorist attack "Workplace violence", Lord help us.   As long as we don't recognize the terrorist, and welcome them across our border and welcome Americans who have joined ISIS back rather forfeiting their citizenship, we are completely vulnerable.  No one is doing anything to protect us.  Frightening because these "people" are worse than rabid dogs.    Ok  Sorry.  Rant over.

Laughing right out loud about your Green Bay Packer Winter Border, Lou Ann!  Too cute ~ and a very lovely border it is, too.   Oooh, and a beautiful new tag for ME, too!  Thank you!

I'm glad Jordan is out of jail, and I really hope the experience did get through to him, on some level even if he doesn't discuss it with the family just yet.  I worry for him too, and I'm keeping my fingers crossed for him.   Hard to type that way, btw.

I've had a nasty squeeky cough for over a week, and a head full of sneeze and snort.  I feel fine and don't think it's a cold, but it's really getting old.   I had to look up Z Pac ~ sounds like a good idea.  She's had so many issues she doesn't need to have something else that would leave her vulnerable.   I hope you don't get  the cough, too, with all the problems you have had!  I will definitely say a prayer that it doesn't get worse.  You don't need another trip to the hospital!   What you are experiencing sounds a lot like what I've been having, but I don't feel vulnerable to something worse with it, just sick and tired of it.

Thanks again for my Dragon Whisperer.  You know I'm stealing the border, too.

Stay well!

RE:JANUARY 2015 CHAT...HAPPY NEW YEAR CUPPA'S
(Date Posted:01/09/2015 1:25 PM)

And so, here I am!

Marcela and her friend Ramana came today.  It had been a month since either had been here, but still the house didn't look tooooo bad.  They were only here about an hour and a half, which would translate to three hours for Marcela alone, but I think they did a pretty good job.  I see a few little things that were missed, but nothing I can't handle, and Ramana changed the batteries in the shade for the large window in the great room and vacuumed the stairs to the basement.   Anyway, I can invite you in now without embarrassment.

Yesterday afternoon when I went out to get the mail just in my sweatshirt it wasn't bad at all.  Overnight we had freezing drizzle topped by a nice dusting of snow.  It's currently 19 degrees and not supposed to get above freezing today. You can guess that our noses won't be going out today!

News is filled with the second shooting and hostage taking at the Kosher Grocery store in Paris and then three of the Islamic Terrorist Thugs were killed.   Too bad.  Now they can get their 72 virgins.  I've told you before that I didn't think they were looking forward to 20 year old virgins, but little girls ~~ or maybe little boys.  Now they report that  child porn was found in the rooms of one of the killers.   Just saying.....   Filthy pedophiles and killers.
