Jesus has a right to rebuke and chasten.  He is the Creator.  Not many on these message boards are qualified to rebuke others.   A Pastor is commanded to "Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine." (2 Tim. 4:2) Maybe we should ask ourselves before we give rebuke or criticism, "Am I doing this to help them or to build up myself? Am I doing this to help or hurt?"

Titus even goes so far as to say, "Wherefore rebuke them sharply" in ch. 1:13, and "rebuke with all authority." in ch. 2:15.

Proverbs 27:5 says, "Open rebuke is better than secret love." Verse 6 says, "Faithful are the wounds of a friend: but the kisses of an enemy are deceitful."

Before any person should rebuke another, they should make sure that their own house is in order.  God's word allows for rebuking under certain conditions, but because of the lack of understanding by some, as well as the differing views by a multitude of readers on internet forums, I don't think this is the proper environment for harsh rebuke.  I think we should present truth and doctrine, but always do so in love, and with the right spirit.
