Topic :   My breasts have had a brilliant career: Pamela

Canadian actress Pamela Anderson has revealed that it was her boobs that had a career all along, and that she was there just for the ride.

From having appeared in movies and posed in some ads, to being the centerpiece in the Playboy magazine, Anderson sure thinks highly of her breasts.

"Apparently, I've nicknamed my breasts Pancho and Lefty. But that's just not true, sadly," the Daily Mail quoted her as saying.

"In the flesh, I don't think they're that magnificent at all, but something happens when they appear on screen - it's like they expand or something.

"But that's it for them now, I think. I wouldn't get anything done to them again, because I tend to think about my health a lot more now than I ever did before.

"When I first got a boob job it was because everyone else was getting theirs done, and I didn't put a great deal of thought into the whole process.

"Then I got the implants removed after my divorce (from Lee) in a kind of 'I'll show him' way, except I really missed them myself, so I put them back in.

But all in all, I'd say they've had a pretty good career. I've basically been tagging along for the ride," she added.

Bollywood actress Preity Zinta just can't stop raving about co-actor Salman Khan's Sikh look in their forthcoming release "Heroes". "We have worked together earlier, but I had never complimented him before. But Salman's Sikh look swept me off my feet," said Preity.

"This is the first time that my male co-star's looks made me go completely in awe of him. Salman plays a Punjabi in the film and every time I saw him in his get-up, I'd go - 'Wow! You look so good, Salman!" Preity added. In the past, Salman and Preity have worked together in films like "Har Dil Jo Pyar Karega", "Chori Chori Chupke Chupke" and "Jaan-e-mann'.

Topic :   Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi Soundtrack this Diwali!

That the composing duo of Salim-Sulaiman are talented is something everyone will agree with, the two have been behind the music for some really big films like Chak De India, Aaja Nachle and Fashion. Up next for them is the soundtrack for the Shah Rukh Khan starrer Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi. Salim recently sat down with Sandhya Iyer and talked all things music. Here are some highlights from that interview.

Their most recent release has been the music for the animated film Roadside Romeo and Salim said they really did not approach it any differently than their other soundtracks, “The thing is that even though this is an animation film, it has been treated like a proper Hindi film. The only difference is that this has dogs as characters. We wanted to keep the ‘Indianness’ intact and at the same time keep it kid-friendly and modern. The whole idea was to have songs that are simple, urban…lot of repetitive hooks. We never imagined there would be so much detailing involved in the film.”

Besides the songs for films the duo also has composed many background scores and Salim says it is one of the aspects of the music industry they enjoy the most. “Background music will always be our first love. People don’t realise but it is such an integral part of a film. In the West especially, it plays an even more important role – at least here we have a musical tradition and incorporate songs. That’s not the case with films in other countries. Which is why background music becomes the sound of your film…it is the soul of a movie. It has the potential to elevate a film’s story to another level altogether.”

Speaking about the success of the music for Madhur Bhandarkar’ s Fashion Salim said, “Madhur (Bhandarkar) was very open about the kind of music he wanted. Besides ‘Jalwa’…, there’s also ‘Mar Jawan’ which is good – it has a lot of Arabic touches. After Fashion, there will be Rab Ne…which will be the icing on the cake.”

Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, which stars Shah Rukh Khan and is directed by Aditya Chopra is one of the most eagerly awaited films of the year. The two were shocked when they were approached for the film, “When Adi (Aditya Chopra) said we’d be doing the music for his film, we were pretty shocked. We said, ‘Are you joking! You can get anyone to do music for the film. Shankar Ehsaan Loy, A R Rahman…anyone, then why us? He replied, ‘You have an untapped energy in you and I want that element in the film’.”

He went on to reveal more about the style of the music saying, “All I can say is that the songs are very different. They have a rustic quality to them. There is a lot of Indianness and simplicity in the songs. But I can tell you, we’re thrilled about the film’s title song. It’s our finest ever….like an iconic love song.”

Fans are sure to rush out to get their copy of the soundtrack and Salim revealed when it will be released. “We’re looking at releasing it on Diwali day. I’m sure Adi has planned for something big.”

Also in the pipeline for the two are Soham Shah’s Luck with Imran Khan, Shimit Amin’s film with Ranbir and Rensil D’Silva’s next starring Kareena Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan and Vivek Oberoi.

Topic :   Adopting Greener Technologies For a More Sustainable Textile Industry

Some 150 participants from thirty countries are attending the conference on the theme Challenges for a Greener and a more Sustainable Textile Industry. The Conference organized by the International Textile Manufacturers Federation and the Mauritius Export Association was officially launched this morning (October 13) by Acting Prime Minister, Minister of Renewal Energy and Public Utilities, Dr. Rashid Beebeejaun, at Le Meridien Hotel, Pointe aux Piments.

Addressing the participants, the Acting Prime Minister recalled that the Government has initiated various measures to reposition the textile industry. In fact, after having registered a negative growth rate in 2005, the textile sector has been able to bounce back to a peak of 8.5% in 2007. Presently, the sector contributes 6.5% to the Gross Domestic Product, accounts for almost 11% of total employment and has a share of 52% of domestic exports.

Dr. R. Beebeejaun added that governments and stakeholders need to work together so as to address the challenges of the textile industry especially at a time when the world is facing enormous difficulties.

For his part, the Minister of Industry, Science and Research, Mr. Dharam Gokhool, reiterated that Mauritius is committed to take a more active role in promoting a clean textile sector as part of the national strategy for a greener economy.

“Otherwise there will be irreparable loss to the creditworthiness of our industries which have been developed over years”, he cautioned.

Initiatives for a clean textile industry include the Industrial Waste Audit Regulations and the Effluent Discharge Permit Regulations and Standards for Effluent Discharge. The Industrial Waste Audit Regulations, scheduled to come into force as from 1st December 2008, will provide accurate information from industries about the origins and sources of environmental releases which is a pre-requisite for effective reduction of industrial emission and wastes. The Effluent Discharge Permit Regulations and Standards for Effluent Discharge which are also being finalized, will regulate discharge of waste waters into the sewer, including effluents from textile industries.

Mauritius has been selected by the United Nations Environmental Programme as one of the pilot countries to develop a national Programme on Sustainable Production and Consumption. This programme will assist small and medium enterprises to carry out energy audits and a study on the economic, environmental and social benefits of extended producer responsibility in certain key products.

On this score, Mauritius is implementing the European Union-Mauritius Country Strategy for the period 2008-2013. This includes a sector programme to reduce the negative environmental impacts of the industry and the development of an environmentally sound industrial management system.

Topic :   E-payment gateway available soon

The e-payment gateway which will enable on-line payment of utilities bills should be available by the end of the year. This statement was made by the Minister of Information and Communications Technology, Mr A. Dulull, at a visit of the Business Parks of Mauritius Ltd (BPML) and Government On-line Centre (GOC) at the Ebène Cyber Tower, this morning (October 13)

Mr Dulull said that all measures would be taken to make the service fully operational within months. He added that a scheme to make the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) sector a rampart against the financial crisis rocking world markets is being devised. ICT-related activities should become a key sector to further the social economic development of the country and cushion the impacts of the financial crisis, he said.

The Minister also encouraged BPML to expand its land occupation at Ebène and to shift its land use priorities in light of the growing demand from ICT operators to house their activities in the area. He assured the support of his ministry to all BPML endeavours to enhance the ICT sector and called for a synergy between the institution and the ministry.

The site visit followed the launching of a workshop on the adoption of Information Security Standards which grouped senior public officers and IT professionals having an information duty in their organisation.

Opening the workshop, the minister announced that the government will soon be coming forward with a strategy for the protection of critical information infrastructure, in line with the National Information Security Strategy elaborated as part of the National ICT Strategic Plan 2007-11. The National Information Security Strategy aims, among others, at building trust and security in the use of ICT as well as initiating measures for reporting and handling of security incidents.

Mr Dulull highlighted the importance of adopting information security best practices and standards at national level to ensure that appropriate security policy measures and controls are implemented in both public and private sectors and that employees are made aware of information security issues. Cyber attacks on both the ICT infrastructure and ‘infostructure’ can have serious consequences on the Mauritian economy and security such as disrupting critical operations and causing loss of revenue, he said.

Topic :   Lara Dutta gets desperate!!!

When she first came into limelight as Miss India and then Miss Universe, Lara Dutta seemed to be a terribly intelligent dame. But after eight long years it seems she just doesn't know how to play her cards right.

Priyanka Chopra who came second to her at the pageant that year (2000), went on to become Miss World, made her debut alongside Lara in 2003 and left her miles behind. PC has worked in big films and with almost every big hero in town, while Lara seems to be stuck in the same place! After working in flop movies and doing bit parts in multi-starrers what more could she expect anyway?

Even Katrina Kaif, her non actress co-star in 'Partner' is hotter property and is in a better position in Bollywood now.

Maybe Lara's still hot and has the grey matter, but somehow something is going wrong somewhere.

Looks like Lara is now trying to hard to stay afloat by talking non stop about her upcoming movie 'Blue' and her new natural beach look in the movie.

Apparently Lara plays a Scuba diver in the aqua adventure thriller produced by Ashtavinayak and shot mostly along coastlines, on sea, and under sea. She underwent special training in Scuba diving for her role in the film.

Director Anthony D'Souza and the production team didn't stop at that( obviously after spending a lot in the movie, they want it to be a super hit).

To give Lara special beach look for her character, they hired Hollywood make-up artist Nikoletta Skarlatos, who did Keira Knightley's look in 'Pirates of the Caribbean'.

The buzz is that Nikoletta along with Clarabelle Saldhana did Lara's make-up for underwater scenes and also transformed Lara from a demure diva to a sultry beach girl.

Since then Lara has not stopped raving about how great it was for her to work with Nicolleta, how she picked up a lot of make-up techniques from her and blah blah blah.

And not just that, she's been going around town telling everybody who's willing to listen that the international crew compared her with the sexist woman in the world Megan Fox, how good it made her feel and stuff like that.

Now the movie has Akshay Kumar, Sanjay Dutt, Zayed Khan and also Katrina Kaif who has a super expensive item number.

Looks like its Lara's way of trying to get noticed. Now we know why she's been talking a lot about 'Billo Barber' with SRK and Irrfan Khan as well. She somehow wants to avoid getting lost in the crowd in the only two big movies she has!

Topic :   Web TV shows porn, without the sex

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - It started when three brothers joked about making pornography for fans of the genre who happen to be offended by on-screen sex. Out of that joke came an idea for a website, and they called it "PG Porn."

In creating pornography that appeals to viewers who want their titillation toned down, brothers James, Sean and Brian Gunn are banking on web-surfers' growing acceptance of porn.

Sean starred in the television show "Gilmore Girls" and James wrote the screenplay for the 2002 movie "Scooby-Doo." Their latest production, a short spoof called "Nailing Your Wife," premiered on Wednesday at their site ( http://www.spike.com/video/pg-porn-pg-porn/3041858 ).

With pornography all over the Internet and the video store, the Gunn brothers rely on viewers' familiarity with all its conventions -- the goofy acting, the bad music, the lace-thin plots -- to create movies that look like the real thing but skirt nudity. Comedy substitutes for hard-core sex.

The actor in "Nailing Your Wife" is Nathan Fillion, who appeared in the ABC show "Desperate Housewives," and his castmate is porn star Aria Giovanni. PG Porn will feature similar pairings in the future.

"This is a place where the porn and the mainstream film industries meet and get to have some understanding of each other," said James Gunn, a writer, director and producer.

"We like to pretend that we're miles and miles away from pornography, but we're not," he said.

PARENTAL GUIDANCE NOT ADVISED

Pornography's size as an industry is often overstated, but Web-based porn generates at least $2 billion a year, said Frederick Lane, the author of "Obscene Profits: The Entrepreneurs of Pornography in the Cyber Age."

"People are getting more blase about porn, I don't think there's any question about that," Lane said. "I think the Internet has played a huge role in that, it sort of lowers everybody's threshold."

PG Porn will also sell its content elsewhere under the direction of "Disaster Movie" producer Peter Safran.

The principals behind PG Porn take the name "PG" from the rating "Parental Guidance Suggested" given to movies largely free of objectionable content. But they do not expect viewers to watch their webisodes with their parents.

Instead, they said they expect men to visit the site in greater numbers than women -- at least initially -- and they assume most men see plenty of porn.

Their site features racy photos of porn stars Aria Giovanni, Belladonna and Sasha Gray. PG Porn's creators recruited them, asking porn fans about their favorite stars.

Bob Peters, president of New York-based Morality in Media, said PG Porn is not as bad as regular porn sites, but he worries viewers will move on to the real thing.

"In the real world of pornography, if you want to get your start in pornography you start in the gutter," he said. "So real people are abused in the production of pornography."

LONDON (Reuters) - One of Britain's oldest residents celebrated her 105th birthday on Saturday, putting her long life down to not having sex.

Clara Meadmore said she had never had sex because she has always been too busy for intimate relationships and it seemed like "a lot of hassle."

The former housekeeper and secretary said she knew she would remain single from the age of 12 and abstained as a young woman to concentrate on earning a living despite several offers of marriage, local newspaper The Western Morning News reported.

"I have just never been interested in or fancied having sex," she was quoted as saying.

She celebrated her birthday with a glass of wine with friends at the Perran Bay home for the elderly in Truro, Cornwall, southwest England, where she lives.

Meadmore was born in Glasgow in 1903 but her family moved to Egypt, Canada and New Zealand, before she returned to Britain in her 20s.

Topic :   You can't have a sex bomb image forever - Tanushree

Three years and nine films later, Tanushree Dutta has moved on. She no longer worries about the kind of perception audience have about her and the variety of roles they want her to be seen in. Instead she wants to focus on different kind of projects that she can lay her hands on and wear different personalities for each of her roles.

''Just like in life you can't have the same mood everyday, the same holds good in your professional career as well. You can't be trapped in the image of a sex bomb forever or shy away from doing different kind of films. I can't be the same girl from morning till night and the same holds good for my films too which should be boasting of different flavors'', philosophizes Tanushree Dutta.

Stating that she can't be playing monotone characters for life, Tanushree declares that she has grown in life. ''I am not a kid anymore to be affected by talks around me. Anything that is extreme, whether overtly negative or highly positive, ceases to disturb the way I look at life or my work. I know of the people who love me and the supporters that I have. I don't have a point to prove to anyone out there.''

Her latest release SAAS BAHU AUR SENSEX saw her in a different avtar altogether. From the bombshell image that she carries, suddenly she appeared as a girl next door.

''Well, it may be a little disappointing for few but again as I said earlier, those who love me would understand this. For others, well I can only be sorry for them but please, don't expect me to be the same all the time'', smiles Tanushree who would also be seen in a children's adventure film RAAMA – THE SAVIOUR soon.

''That's one film I am excited about since I have learnt martial arts for the film. RAAMA – THE SAVIOUR. The film boasts of stunts on the lines of Lara Croft played by Angeline Jolie in THE TOMB RAIDERS SERIES and has state–of–the–art special effects and animation. It was fun shooting for the film which has been shot in the jungles of Thailand'', signs off Tanushree.

Hollywood actress Drew Barrymore has revealed that she burst into tears when US Presidential candidate discussed gay issues.

Barrymore said that she ended up crying after listening to Obama's speech about the difficulties faced by a gay person in the present scenario.

"When I heard him speak about a gay person never having to sit outside the hospital room with their loved one sick inside, I burst into tears because so many people I care about are homosexual and it was profound to have someone be sensitive to that," US magazine quoted Barrymore, as telling Harper's Bazaar.

"That's the kind of world I want to live in, where we're not holding our own principles in judgement above someone or against someone," she added.
Barrymore, who has endorsed Barack in the Harper Bazaar's issue, seems to be pretty affected by the Democrat's speech.

"It's the first time I've really admitted I'm a Democrat," she said.

"McCain is a good person, and he does care, but he has voted against things that are shocking as far as people's liberties and economic choices," she added.

Super sexy Celina Jaitley has high expectations for Golmaal Returns following the less than satisfactory results from Money Hai Toh Honey Hai. She's very pleased to be returning to a full-on comedy format. "I did Golmaal Returns because I loved the prequel Golmaal and somehow I wanted to do a movie which would have the capability to become as big as a No Entry," she says. She's also pleased that the movie allows her to de-glam a bit. "I was looking forward for a role like that because I am fed up of doing glamorous roles. There is much more to me than just being a barbie on screen," she explains.

Half-Afghan and Half-Punjabi Indian, Celina was Miss India in 2001. She is also the brand ambassador for Egyptian Tourism. Would she like to see more Bollywood movies shot in India? "Of course yes. Recently, there was a song from Singh Is Kinng which was shot in front of the beautiful pyramids. We did a lot of publicity for the tourism back in Egypt and in India. Egypt is one of the most romantic destinations in the world. Let's not forget the famous love story of Cleopatra and Ceasar which took place in Egypt," she argues.

Celina has a number of interesting projects lined up including the New Zealand made movie The Quest of Scheherzade (although there is currently some dispute over what the final title will be) and Hello Darling with Eesha Koppikar. She also appears in EMI. Celina is also committed to the PETA campaign and is taking part in their 'Shackled, Beaten and Abused' campaign. Photographed in chains, she is seen in the ad being attacked by men with spears - works for me, how about you?

Topic :   The Alps are alive with the sound of... Bollywood!

INTERLAKEN, Switzerland (AFP) - In a crowded Swiss cafe nestled in the picturesque Alpine town of Interlaken, Indian film star Anushka Shetty tries to catch the attention of fellow actor Gopichand Tottempudi.

He ignores her, she throws a tantrum, sending a coffee cup flying in front of a crowd of bystanders.

This is no unguarded moment of celebrity egos out of control, but rather a musical scene from a forthcoming Indian movie blockbuster, made and filmed in Switzerland.

The filming of 'Sowryam' or "Courage of a Warrior", drew numerous curious bystanders, and importantly for Switzerland's tourism industry, these included many Indian tourists thrilled to catch a glimpse of their idols.

Since the early 1980s, Indian films have been shot in Switzerland on a regular basis.

Film Location Switzerland director Andre Brice told AFP that he did not have an exact count of Indian films made here, but added that at the peak, there were as many as 30 productions here a year.

"In the 90s and the early 2000s there were sometimes more than 30 films shot a year. So there are probably more than 200 films that have been made since the beginning. But frankly speaking nobody knows the exact number," Brice said.

The relationship between India and Switzerland began in the 1980s, when Kashmir, a popular location for film-makers, descended into violence.

As film-makers searched for other locations with mountains, meadows, lakes -- all key settings for essential song-and-dance sequences in Indian movies -- Yash Chopra, a leading Bollywood film-maker chanced upon Switzerland.

Chopra hired a Swiss man named Jakob Tritten to find him locations for the shoot, and that heralded Switzerland's entry to Bollywood.

"It opened up a new relationship between Switzerland and India," said Brice.

The importance of Indian films has even led the country's film commission Film Location Switzerland to offer a special scouting package including food, transport and board for two, to attract Indian film-makers here.

"We need to facilitate more filmmakers to come. One way to do that is to offer such a scouting package in preparations for the film," added Brice.

But some Indian film-makers are already drawn even without such perks.

Sowryam's director Siva Jayakumar says he picked Interlaken for the shoot because "I remembered from my last shoot here that you have this nice meadow with snow-capped mountains in the background."

"The scenery is beautiful. The people are very nice. I've been to many countries, but this is one of the friendliest. They really help you to work," he added, adding that this was his third film in Switzerland.

But even if you take the film crew out of India, you can't take India out of the film crew -- as was obvious when the the crew stopped for brunch, tucking into plates of steaming rice prepared by their own chef.

A member of the crew explained that they preferred to have food they were used to, so up to 60 kg of ingredients -- including masala and ghee -- were flown in to help the cook get the taste right.

Some Indian tourists took the opportunity to take photos with the stars.

"Yes we know them, it's great to see them here," said Girababu Srinivasamurthy, who said he was surprised to see the production here

The new relationship was not without its teething troubles however. Unlike the Swiss who were sticklers for details and schedules, Indian film-makers and crews tended to improvise.

Brice said it was not uncommon for a director to change the day's plans for a mountain shoot to a lake scene if the crew bus happened to pass by a stretch of water that catches the director's eye.

As Jean-Pierre Francioli, who was Tritten's company's representative managing the Interlaken shoot, said: "The first time I worked with the Indians, I was thinking 'what the hell is that'."

Many location companies here simply gave up. But Tritten and his team persevered.

"You are responsible for making arrangements to make the film happen. So when it's really happening, you feel very good about it," said Francioli, a native Swiss German speaker whose English is now laced with an Indian accent.

Francioli's tasks as he described it is "anything" -- hiring helicopters, securing filming permits, finding extras and driving the crew's coach.

Meanwhile the Swiss tourism industry has sought to take full advantage of billions of people across India seeing their silver screen idols dance, bicker and fall in love against an Alpine backdrop.

"The songs shot in the Swiss mountains and meadows had to do with paradise, fairytales. It made Indian couples dream of having their honeymoon here," said Brice.

According to the Swiss Statistics Office, the number of overnight stays rose 54.8 percent between 2001 and 2006.

The growth in num
