Condemning the Mumbai terror attacks as "barbarous", Mauritius President Sir Anerood Jugnauth on Sunday said that it is time for the whole world to combat the scourge of terrorism. "The barbarous terrorist attack is condemned by one and all. The time has come for us to join forces together to combat the evils of the society. Terrorism is a concern for every inhabitant of this planet whatever country you might be in," Jugnauth said while addressing at seminar on 'Universal Brotherhood and Peace' here. "As the President of the Republic of Mauritius and a citizen of this world, I condemn the terrorist attack that that created havoc to the people of the Republic of India and in which one of my compatriots lost his life," the president said. Jugnauth said his government was also "stepping up" security in Mauritius in the wake of audacious terrorist strike in India's financial capital. The island nation is a major tourist attraction for tourists from India and across the world. Jugnauth, who has his roots in India, expressed his "personal support" to those who lost their near and dear ones in the mayhem. In their three-day long attacks beginning November 26 in Mumbai, terrorists had specifically targeted tourists and foreign nationals. The seminar, organised by National Integrated Forum of Artists and Activists, was attended by academicians, parliamentarians and social activists.
