 Bollywood superstar, former Miss Universe and Economics-graduate, Lara Dutta is the new Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations Population Fund for the Laadli National Media Awards. These awards honour those people who have been active in gender issues across India. Lara will soon be seen in the movie Blue in which she looks leaner and sexier than ever. She ascribes this to having to work really hard on her fitness and muscle tone for her action-packed role in the movie. Since making a big impact with Partner last year, Lara's personal life has had its ups-and-downs - how does she feel about her private life being fought out in the public domain? "I've learnt to focus on what is important," she says, "At the moment my work is important. I don't have a problem discussing work, very little is private in an actor's life, and I take things with a bag full of salt." Lara's professional career is on an upward swing. Having won the Filmfare Best Debut Award for Andaaz, she made an impression in movies such as No Entry, Dosti: Friends Forever and Fanaa - and she was really quite outstanding in Jhoom Bharabar Jhoom. There's certainly nothing for Lara to feel blue about.
