 While both Jab We Met and Socha Na Tha revolved around interaction between two youngsters, which ultimately culminates into love, none of the above films were true blue romantic tales. However, writer-director Imtiaz Ali declares that his next film starring Saif Ali Khan and Deepika Padukone will be an intense romantic tale to the core. Imtiaz says that neither Jab We Met or Socha Na Tha were love stories in the true sense of the term. In the former, only Shahid realizes his love for the girl, Kareena, who only falls in love with him towards the film's end. Similarly, Socha Na That was more about two people being set up for marriage. They chose to become friends first, only to turn into lovers later. So he promises that his next starring Saif and Deepika will be his first love story. But he also admits that it is difficult for him to categorise a film in a particular genre. The director has not yet announced this venture of his officially. Speaking about what has been holding him back from making that announcement, Imtiaz says that he was more keen on starting with shooting the film
